Hi All, I just want to give you a quick sequence of how we will be proceeding tonight, so you can prepare yourselves in terms of your expectations for the class. By now you will have all read over the UN document relating to Education for All and the Global Economic Symposium material relating to overcoming challenges through education. Also, no doubt you have prepared some notes on the questions I gave you earlier. For tonight, keep the following in mind:
- We will begin with an overview of the current educational situation in global terms and what the expectations might be for leadership in terms of creating change and improvement. (about 30 minutes)
- We will then form into groups to consider each of the five questions, each group will study two questions, the one on personal reactions and one other, as designated
- Groups will discuss and prepare short presentations of 10 to 15 minutes on the question using the material in the folder given to them (about 30 minutes)
- Five mini presentations will be given on the five questions, one by each group (about an hour and fifteen minutes, or 75 minutes)
- We will have a debrief and time for questions and concerns (about 15-20 minutes)
