Reflections Week Seven

The transformation process in education as we discussed it has three component parts, or blocks. We can look at the leadership, the organization and management practices as the first block, and at this level buy in is the critical element for successful change. Buy in will come primarily from the involvement of all individuals at every level of the organization. Further along, the second block is the actual teaching practices, and we must strive to train our teachers through continuous professional development to meet the challenges of change. The final component or block needed for successful change implementaion is to create links with universities or businesses, the wider community. For these links to work, there has to be a constancy of relationship building and partnerships will be a key element of this success. Dr Andy Late arrival for EL 8312 class 6:30 PM:

Hi, for this week seven class, I must apologize to all of you and ask
for your understanding, as unfortunately I will be arriving late for
the class. This is due to a Christmas party for teachers,
administrators, and staff of Ruamrudee International School. Although
the party runs from 5 to 10 PM, I will go and stay for only the first
part, and should arrive at the University hopefully by 6:30 PM. I will
skip the dinner, and my wife and children will stay there on my
behalf. In the meantime, can you please organize yourselves into
groups of two to three and discuss the questions below with the
reading given to you earlier as the background material for your
discussion. I should be there by about 6:30 PM and will do my
introduction when I arrive. So please begin without me at 6. Thanks
