I was really impressive with friends’ presentation that night and also I had more knowledge about ICT, education and 21 st century skills. We got to accept that ICT have sent the good effect for education and all the part of society. The ICT give more alternative of education such as learning activities have many channel. Every one could access to information whenever they want or we might say “Learning can happen anytime” or lifelong learning but I will not say ICT for all! The we have more hi technology in the life the more we have to know how to use it wisely. As a person who in the education circle I would like to say the ICT can help me teach the kids more effectively I applied it in some area of my teaching it was wonderful but I found out the kids still need to touch the warmness and a kind voice as well as bonding form the teacher because we are human we need real interaction. In sum, ICT absolutely make change all of the section of society. ICT have become the 21 st century skills for any job in the work place including the school setting also it go in many part of education even school management , learning and teaching and so on. Therefore, as a teacher we have more responsibility for teaching the kids know how to use ICT brightly. Aey
I agree with Aey’s point of view related to having the young ones to be with the “machines”. As an early childhood educator, I don’t think it is proper to let our little ones explore in ICT products too early or for too long. In the past, after people invented TV, parents used TV to babysit their children, what the effect was: More and more children were diagnosed as ADHD. During the years of working in pre-k and kindergarten classes, I found lots of kids who have attention issues. However, now it’s not caused by watching TV anymore. It is the computer that occupied these young minds. I am not against to ICT, but like what Aey mentioned, children need to grow in a warm environment, need to develop their senses, need to develop their cognitive, social, language, and physical skills. Computer games wouldn’t provide the opportunities for them to build these skills. There are some interactive types of games that children would enjoy playing, but they can’t replace interactions with real human beings. In higher level, we can see how the ICT is beneficial to teaching and learning, such as SmartBoard. I saw some of the teachers in our school using this SmartBoard, and their students really enjoyed “playing” with it, and learned from it. I don’t have a SmartBoard in my classroom, but I just got an LCD projector. Now I can use online resources to help my students learn Chinese. And as to the 21st century skills, is every skill essential? Are they new concepts? The more I learned, the more questions I have! Shira
Yes, I also agree with Aey and Shira. ICT is useful if we properly use it. For me I allowed my daughters have fun time with computer not much, but we compensate their fun time with other activities that is more appropriate and interest than sit and play on the TV monitor. In a school, ICT is beneficial to teaching and learning, isn't it? I would say "yes" if the school is "ready" to use it. However, I think we must don't forget that there are many things that ICT can't be used for substitution. ICT may give us fun time but it may not give us real time for relaxation. It may give us more convenience for communication but we may loose relationship in family.
Sarah said--- No doubt that there is clear need to develop a set of age related digital competencies for young children because they are growing up in an information era and will work in a complex and knowledge based community. So children from the early ages should identify the uses of technology in their everyday life. But as it was earlier discussed by Shira and Aey there are still issues in ICT usage by children that have to be regarded with care and to put children at the exposure of ICT without proper management and control can be followed by serious physical and mental consequence. Technology can never and shouldn’t replace human interaction or relationships or take the place of activities such as reading stories together or sharing conversation with other children. But I think how well technology usage is managed determines its effectiveness or inefficiency in early childhood education. ICT if applied properly will not increase the isolation and detachment of children from community, rather it will set up an environment in which children are highly motivated and encouraged to collaborate and interact with others and also it can help in language and literacy development of kids. So how well children use ICT and to what extent it contributes in effective children education depends on the knowledge and skills of teacher who is managing the class. We actually can’t expect those aptitudes and skills come to teachers naturally and in fact most of the teachers don’t have the background to evaluate the appropriateness of website or software they use in the class. So they need to be given opportunities for ICT professional development in order to become more efficient educators who can integrate technology into their teaching and learning process.

Since the rising of the information, educations have been changed in many ways. Information age has made education easier. In all education, worlds ICT play a role as a hero in the schools and education intuitions, especially in supporting instructional in the classroom. ICT benefits teachers directly too, by helping to reduce the amount of time that needs to be spent on administration and preparation. In addition, it can be used to support teachers' continuing professional development. Many teachers already use ICT to enrich the learning experiences of their pupils, to bring lessons to life and to help them meet the individual needs of every learner. For many pupils, ICT can make a real difference to academic performance Many students who prefer to stay at home could easily study online through the usage of video conferencing. So the teacher could teach though the usage of E-learning. Moreover, benefit of ICTs in education is a new generations’ familiarization with the technologies that become integral components of the modern world. However, despite the positive impacts emerging from the integration of ICTs – improvements in teaching, learning and administration. –Jackie-
